It was 23rd of October
When I first saw you
Nothing I could find
Since there’s someone else in mind
Months flew by
And we keep standing side by side
Until one day
I was so sure that
I might have been wrong
That I was so strong
Of how I could stand and sit there
Without talking to you
But it seemed like, no
There are butterflies
As my sweat rolled down
As I hear your laugh
Echoing the space inside
Carving the beam across my face
As I hear your footsteps fade away
Day by day went by I noticed a change inside
As I was made sure of that
Bright light I saw through your eyes
I kept giving and giving
Without receiving
But I’m not expecting,
Stealing glances but
I might have been wrong
That I was so strong
Of how I could stand and sit there
Without talking to you
But it seemed like, no
There are butterflies
As my sweat rolled down
As I hear your laugh
Echoing the space inside
Carving the beam across my face
As I hear your footsteps fade away
29th of January
It began when you said you’d come back
And that failed "reroute"
Your short pants it's 3 AM
As the day finally came
I waited five hours long
Remember when you misnamed the menu?
But now it's empty space between us two
But yet, still,
There are butterflies
As my sweat rolled down
As I hear your laugh
Echoing the space inside
Carving the beam across my face
As I hear your footsteps fade away
And as the clock ticks to end
All I ever wanted to say
That it’s great to meet you
For I don’t have the time to know you.
And how I wished we can be more than then.
